Architects is within the occupational group that prepares plans and projects of the building as per demand and opportunities, controlling the construction and making research and development about those issues. They could work in public organizations in Turkey such as Ministry of Public Works and Settlement, Ministry of Transportation and also in municipalities; they could also work as an architect in their own offices independently or in other architecture offices as an architect.

During architectural education, students receive education and make researches in preparation of plans and projects of the building as per demand and opportunities and controlling the construction.  Those students who would like to receive education in departments of architecture shall receive general mathematics, building physics, introduction to architectural drawing. In further years of university education, they shall receive courses with advanced level architectural knowledge, more extensive and based on plan drawing that is more alike design. Students, who would like to receive education and be successful in this department, must be interested in mathematical sciences, as well as drawing and space. Architects draw plans of building considering the natural conditions as well as law, regulations and monetary opportunities and then, they create a construction model which shows the last appearance and form of the building later. Architects spend most of their times in drawing projects and making etudes and project controls. In order to audit the implementation of project in several stages, the architect shall go to construction site.

Leading universities in Turkey about architecture education are Mimar Sinan University, Istanbul Technical University, Bilkent University, Middle East Technical University and Yıldız Technical University.

Business administration education in Turkey is divided into two programs such as 2 years of associate degree education or 4 years of bachelor’s degree education programs. Many associate degree programs give an opportunity to continue to bachelor’s degree immediately after the graduation without losing any time. Students, who complete their bachelor’s degree education, could continue to master’s degree education which is a more academic level. Master’s degree education in Turkey is in two types as master’s degree education with thesis and master’s degree education without thesis. Master’s degree education programs without thesis are more industry-oriented than academic for whom are mostly working professionally. Students, who receive master’s degree education without thesis, are persons who are sought industrially but this is not appropriate for students who would like to continue to doctorate education and who would like to have an academic career. In master’s degree education without thesis, students shall be graduated by creating projects rather than thesis. Master’s Degree education with thesis lasts generally 2 years, 1 year for courses and 1 year for thesis preparation in Turkey. Master’s degree education without thesis generally lasts 2 years, such as 1 year for courses and 1 year for project. Those students, who shall complete their master ’s degree education, could go on in their academic career plans by being registered to doctorate programs.
